Family Institute of the Ozarks was founded by Ron and Lou Thelen Kemp as a resource to help the community obtain psychotherapy services. 

Our counseling services cover a wide range of areas, including, family concerns, pre-marital counseling, marital difficulties, parent-child relationships, single-parent families, family adjustment problems, blended families, adolescent difficulties, school problems, childhood issues, individual coping skills, death and divorce adjustment and many more.

Our customary fee per hour is $95.00. We do accept insurance, Medicare and Medicaid.  We participate in the new Medicaid HMO’s which include Children’s Mercy Family Health Partners, HealthCare USA and Molina Health Care.  We also participate with New Directions, United Healthcare, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and several others.  If you have no insurance or state medical coverage but still need our services, we also have a sliding fee scale based on annual income and number of people in the home. Please ask us about the sliding scale when you call.  We also accept self-pay patients.

Family Institute of the Ozarks works with the National Health Service Corps which provides assistance for professionals if they work in a designated rural areas.
